Erik Johansson

USPTA teaching pro Erik Johansson, now in his 13th year as Director of Tennis at Canon swim and Tennis Club and Owner/Operator of Tennis in Marin, gives private and group lessons, specialized clinics and coaches the club teams. Beginning and intermediate students respond to Erik’s insight, patience and skill in moving quickly toward their goals while advanced players seek out Erik to hone technique and elevate their games. Erik is committed to the community in which he serves. He has a long history of dedication to the development of young players in Marin County, many of whom have gone on to be excellent high school players and college players. He is a USTA Certified Schools Clinician, runs USTA quick start programs designed for boys and girls 4 to 10 years old, and co-directs the Redwood and Tam High School District summer camps. He regularly offers the courts at Canon Swim & Tennis Club for Drake High School’s boys tennis team home matches and his free tennis lessons for students of Whitehill school in Fairfax annually draws over 400 kids during its two week run, many of whom are discovering the game for the first time. He is a founding Board Member of the North Bay Junior Tennis Association which has established a circuit of tournaments in the North Bay so kids interested in tennis can play tournaments locally without having to travel long distances. Erik serves as Tournament Director for the two junior tournaments held at Canon each year. As operator of Tennis in Marin, Erik oversees the public court tennis programs for six Marin County cities, managing staffing, scheduling, league play and tournaments. He is a Babalot Professional Team Member, Certified Racket Technician, and owner of the Canon Swim & Tennis Club Pro Shop.
